How do I know which Stone or brick to use?
Anderson’s Masonry Hearth and Home has an expansive collection of stone or brick’s products - from distinctive manufactured stone veneers and natural stone to gorgeous brick veneers. Stone and brick masonry is crafted to complement an array of architectural styles. Our house stone colors and brick veneer styles stretch from rustic to modern - whether you're building a conventional brick fireplace or a chic, manufactured stone wall in your bath.
When choosing a stone or brick profile, color is very important to match with the home’s design, surrounding and other features. Bring in your designer, color swatches, siding and roofing samples to help narrow the selection in our showroom.
The easiest method to use when coordinating colors is to use a matching color scheme.
Use coordinating stone colors to compliment your home. If your siding or accents are a pale tan, use a stone or brick the same shade or a few shades deeper or lighter. For best results, select brick veneer or stone that has little variation. Because siding is very consistent in color, it may be easier, if you first select the stone or brick then the siding.
Instead of using similar brick or stone colors, try using colors that have a lot of contrast with one another. For instance, use a dark stone with a pale siding to make the difference and their contrasting textures more prominent, or use a dramatic color with a more neutral one. Since natuarl and manufactured stones are more likely to be a neutral color, use the home's siding to add the interest. In addition, choosing colors that are opposite from one another on a color wheel, like blue and orange, adds interest to the home. Use caution though, this is a very strong look and can be be overpowering.
Similar colors are ones that are next to one another on a color wheel, like orange, red, and yellow. This is a safe and subtle way to add multiple colors to your home. For instance, if you had brick that were reddish in color, a yellow siding could go well. This is a great strategy to use if your stones or bricks have multiple colors and aren't very consistent.
