Celebrate summer with this tasty recipe that is effortless to prepare. Pair these steaks with garlic mashed potatoes, fresh salad, watermelon and maybe brownies for dessert!
Eye Fillet 200-250g per serving
2 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
To begin, set your Primo Grill for direct cooking (no heat deflector plates) and heat to about 575 - 625 degrees Fahrenheit
To taste, season fillets with salt, pepper and garlic. Set on a plate or platter and leave out at at room temperature for a half an hour.
Let’s get to the fun part! To get a good sear, grill each steak over direct heat (575 – 625 (f) for two minutes each side. Now, flip the steaks once more and close the draft door. Close the damper top as well to cut of all airflow of the Primo. Cook like this for another 5 minutes until you reach your desired doneness. Ideal internal temp is 150 (f) for medium rare and 165(f) for well done
Helpful Grilling Tips:
Important: When grilling at high temperatures crack the grill about 1 inch and hold for 2 seconds before continuing with lifting up the lid the whole way. This is especially true after you have closed the airflow of the grill and then reopen it.
This eye fillet recipe is incredibly tasty. Remember though it is easy to eat too large of a portion. A healthy steak portion is about the size of the palm of your hand. As with all proteins, remember to balance the meal with lots of fresh vegetables and fruits.
